Council Motions

Council Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month.  The public are welcome to observe these meetings from the public gallery.  If you wish to attend a meeting as a group I would suggest you inform the Town Clerk in advance to ensure room is set aside for your group as space is limited.

Each Councillor is only permitted to ask 2 questions and propose 3 motions at each monthly meeting, all of which are submitted in advance to the Town Clerk.  

The motions listed below are the proposals that I brought to Athlone Town Council since my election in 2009. 

I have a100% attendance record at meetings and I have proposed more motions than any other Councillor since my election.

I was also the only Councillor to propose that Councillor expenses should be published monthly in a fully transparent and open way.  Only three Athlone Councillors have agreed to publish their monthly expenses (as of March 2012) for more information log on to http://www.athlone.ie/udc/about_us/members.htm#h
